"You Were The Tease" is a song by Ayesha Erotica. The original version was released on April 12^th, 2016 as a Bandcamp bonus track on her debut album, BIG JUICY.^[1]

The remastered version was released on February 2^nd, 2017. It was intended to be featured on her album, Gangbang, before being an outtake.^[1]

Background[]

Original Version[]

The original version was released days prior to the album's release. The instrumental was posted to Ayesha's SoundCloud account, "ayeshainstrumentals", in early 2016.^[1]

Remastered Version[]

Ayesha released the remastered version that was featured in her playlist, "What You Never Got to Hear: A Farewell to the Gangbang Era", on February 2^nd, 2017. The remastered version has different instrumentals and vocals.^[1]

During an Instagram live from January 5^th, 2024, Ayesha was asked about the song's backstory. She answered:

"Yeah, the song "Tease" by The Medic Droid. It's like a response song to that. I don't even know."^[2]

Theme[]

The song appears to be about Ayesha pursuing a guy who has been playing hard-to-get. Despite her persistence, the guy has consistently disregarded her, creating a sense of frustration and determination.^[3]

The pre-chorus emphasizes Ayesha's desire to be noticed and to have her advances reciprocated. She wants the guy to pay attention to her and choose her over others. However, the repetitive line, "And I just wanna waste your time" suggests both a playful and sarcastic attitude, hinting at the idea of wanting to make things difficult or challenging for him.^[3]

The chorus serves as a plea for the guy to pick her up, which can be interpreted as a metaphor for Ayesha wanting the guy to finally reciprocate her advances and give her a chance. The repetition of "I'm ready" emphasizes her eagerness and willingness to engage in a romantic or intimate relationship.^[3]
