"We Can Do It!" (originally titled "Do It" & "Do It Like") is an upcoming, previously unreleased song by Ayesha Erotica. It was originally intended to be featured as the second track on her fifth 2018 studio album, horny.4u, but the project was later scrapped.

Background

Tracklist & Different Versions

Recorded sometime in late 2017-early 2018, an early version of the song known as "Do It Like" was used in Ayesha’s mix Playtime, made to soundtrack Ayesha's friend and performer, Danica Anna Uskert’s short film of the same name, which was released through her Vimeo page on April 13^th, 2018. According to Ayesha, this version supposedly included a rap verse that was seemingly excluded from the mix and later iterations of the song.

On July 16^th, the tracklist for Ayesha’s then-upcoming fifth studio album horny.4u was unveiled, revealing a presumably re-titled version of the song.

Interestingly, either prior to or after this alteration, two additional changes to the song were documented as occurring. In mid 2018, Ayesha posted a dubbed video to Instagram of American singer Madonna, lip-syncing a slower, re-titled version of the song, titled "Do It". Its original caption read: "this stupid ass rebel heart bitch loves my upcoming single ‘Do It’."

The second instance included a video posted to Twitter of Ayesha playing The Sims 4 with the "Do It" version of the song also overlaid, it featured minor production changes and similarly pitched up vocals as "Do It Like".

"Do It Like" surfaced online on April 5^th, 2019, when it was discovered and clipped from the previously obscure mix Playtime, without the fade present at the end. The faded version leaked on November 5^th, 2019. Despite fan speculation that the faded version would’ve appeared on horny.4u, it’s ultimately unknown which iteration of the song was planned for the album’s release. The 2018 demo has yet to leak.

On December 30^th, 2023, Ayesha played the song during an Instagram live-stream.

On February 26^th, 2024, Ayesha announced the song would be featured and released as a track, with the rap verse excluded from Playtime, on the 2024 reworked version of the album.

Theme

The song explores themes of addiction, emotional detachment, and seeking temporary escape through substances and the night life. The chorus signifies a desire to engage in excessive partying and drug use as a means of escaping reality. The lyrics also depict a relationship marked by the pursuit of pleasure, emphasizing the allure of the night and the carnal desires that drive Ayesha and her love-interest.

The post-chorus repetitions and the fragmented lines in the song highlight the repetitive, almost mechanical nature of this lifestyle and relationship, symbolizing a cycle of destructive behavior and unfulfilled emotional connections. Ayesha is honest about not being able to guarantee anything long-term or stable and that when reality sets back in after the high of the night, there might be emotional consequences that she can’t do anything to prevent.

The use of metaphorical imagery such as "romance and cocaine" suggests that Ayesha is using drugs and the allure of the night to create a temporary sense of excitement and emotional fulfillment.
