The instrumental version of "Control: The Finale" (original file name: “untitled beat #2”) was posted to Ayesha’s "ayeshainstrumentals" SoundCloud page on April 28th, 2016, and the vocal version was later released through her "whore1234" profile on May 17th, 2017.[3]
Interestingly, there is speculation surrounding the release order of the song and its vocal rendition:
Due to "Hot Shit" being the only "ayeshainstrumentals" upload to have been labeled as an unreleased song, it’s likely that the vocal version of "Control: The Finale" may have initially released on Ayesha’s main account, "pussysugar", prior to the instrumental — before being removed, and later reposted to "whore1234". [3]
However, this has yet to be fully confirmed, since the original upload was never archived prior to its deletion. All three accounts have also since been completely deleted.[3]
During an Instagram live from January 22nd, 2024, Ayesha was asked if the song was about anyone. She replied: "No, I was just writing pop songs."[4]
